PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

As the name of our new newsletter implies, WE ARE ALL TTM (“todos SOMOS TTM”). People management is a critical success factor in our company. TTM’s main asset is all of us, who are part of it. Providing optimal conditions for the development of the existing human group and incorporating new collaborators into the team are crucial aspects which will enable us to boost different existing situations and inject new energy for facing the challenges of the business on a daily basis.

Always at the service of our internal client; we promote teamwork and strive to strengthen and maintain good work relationships among our collaborators and trade unions, within the legal framework. We develop clear and transparent recruiting and selection procedures, without discrimination, based solely on competencies, potential and experience, using procedures that ensure we will place the right worker in the right job. We value productivity and good performance among our collaborators, providing work stability, encouraging the internal development and promotion of our collaborators. We forge commitment to the generation and development of competencies, ongoing improvement of skills, capacity and the knowledge necessary for generating expected and above-standard results assuring the professional excellency of the human team.

NEW ONGOING TRAINING PROGRAM – HUMAN CAPITAL

This program, which will be in place from 2010 to 2013, will enable us to permanently strengthen and develop the competencies necessary for enhancing our endeavor, leveling degrees of knowledge and developing the technical skills and performance of our foremen, workers, assistants and supervisors. We started last March. The courses were designed and scheduled to meet our current main operational priorities.

This new approach will allow for ongoing training, with the main objective being “hands-on learning.” This is why the theoretical content is 30% and the practical content 70%. Each module will last one week.

The courses were initially imparted in the Santiago head office, but then continued rotationally throughout the year in our brand-new TTM Training Center located in the new Enea facilities.

Each group comprises workers from all the branches (Iquique, Antofagasta, Calama and Santiago); this, in turn, enables interaction and sharing best practices.

It is important to underscore the fact that this program will also enable improving motivation and the loyalty of our collaborators to TTM Chile

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING IQUIQUE BRANCH

The company and its workers engaged in collective bargaining at the Iquique branch last May, under absolutely normal circumstances. Bargaining closed successfully on Monday, May 31, with the signing of the Collective Agreement between Company Trade Union No. 3 TTM Iquique Establishment and TTM Chile for a period of 2 years (2010-2012).

TTM is a company very much focused on its human resources and that is evident. Training is an important part of development and professional growth and TTM understands that.

Got something to say?
