TTM Chile Seminar
Experts analyze power efficiency in Conveyor systems.
Nearly one hundred executives, professionals and technicians in this field of expertise attended the specialized seminar.
The seminar “Principles of Power Efficiency in Conveyor systems,” organized by TTM Chile, was held in Santiago. Renowned experts and more than one hundred executives, professionals and technicians attended.
The purpose of this technical symposium, held in the Intercontinental Hotel, was to examine and debate efficient power use in the productive processes of the mining sector, a key aspect in this industry.
On this occasion, Dr. Ludger Overmeyer, professor of the University of Hannover, Germany, spoke on the factors determining the power efficiency of an ore transportation system, whereas Mr. Stefan Tappeiner, of Rheinbraun Engineering GmbH, RWE International Group, discussed practical experience in facing the challenge of achieving greater efficiency in this area.
The executive of Artur Küpper GmbH of Germany, Rolf Schwandtke, then analyzed in detail the design and specification of Idler Pulley for greater power efficiency, considered a key factor in this process. Subsequently, Ulf Richter, portfolio manager Conveyor Systems at ABB Switzerland, spoke on the Gearless Drives technology in this field.
On closing the specialized seminar, the general manager of TTM Chile, Martin Schäfer, provided a practical view of the issue from an on-site work standpoint. The executive said that none of the components involved in the productive process could be used to maximum efficiency if operating conditions were not adequate.
Those attending the seminar expressed their satisfaction regarding the scope and content of this symposium, which they considered extremely useful for achieving the objectives of enhanced power efficiency in Conveyor systems.
